Missi!

A BIG Thank You to Missi Carini, WEMS Art Teacher and my good friend who fired our pendants in her glass kiln. Missi has a wonderful home studio and is a well known and respected fused glass artist. She has helped me so much with the technical information relating to the teaching of this glass unit.

Creating....

The students have loved creating the fused glass pendants. There is something about the glass that just attracts the students. I have had several ask to make more than one thing. I love that they are learning to cut glass, be confident with design and create their own Jewelry piece.

Pre-test and intro to fused glass Jewelry

Students were given a Pre-test over the fused glass process and then introduced to artists who use glass. We watched a couple of youtube videos about fused glass. While they were informative.....I think they could have been better. IDEA! Missi Carini and I should make glass videos for you tube! Yes, I already asked her:) Here's the Pre-Test....maybe you want to teach this to your students! Here's a link to the Youtube videos that we watched: Couldn't leave out this glass artist!

Supplies have arrived! Let the learning begin!

We have been patiently waiting on the supplies to be delivered and finally they are here! Loved unpacking the boxes. Ilmira, my student aide had the pleasure of counting everything and removing all of the protective wrapping from the pieces of glass. Thanks Ilmira!
